Peace Corps Blog It Home 2016 Finalist Peru

The Peace Corps Blog It Home contest starts with over 400 blogs from currently serving volunteers. From the volunteers who enter the contest 20 blogs are chosen to move on to the finals based off the following criteria:

  • “Demonstrated commitment to increasing cross-cultural understanding:  40%
  • Cultural richness of blog:  30%
  • Quality of writing: 15%
  • Quality of media content: 15%”

Each of the 20 finalists then picks a photo to enter into the Facebook liking contest, and from this group 9 or 10 are selected to travel to Peace Corps HQ in Washington D.C. for a week “to promote the Third Goal in a series of intercultural presentations, professional development events, and other activities around the city.”

Blog It Home Peace Corps Finalist Contest 2016

Hat’s off to all of the finalists! There are some really great bloggers in the finals. All of those hours spent writing and uploading pictures with miserably slow internet, and all of the hours spent on rickety combis to get to internet in the capital city paid off. Please take a moment to look through the album and show some love to all of the wonderful volunteers/bloggers participating in the Peace Corps Blog It Home contest.
