The Future of No Sleep Till Peace

Hand dyed fabric Cajamarca Peru

Good afternoon family, friends, fellow travelers, Peace Corps volunteers, and readers,

I am very excited to share a few changes coming soon! The No Sleep Till Peace family continues to grow and I am thankful for the support of every single one of ya’ll. It has been fun to go through this Peace Corps experience while sharing all of the ups and downs with an online community. We have reached over 15k followers on Instagram and I love the messages and feedback that ya’ll send as I post daily stories of life in Lima.

No Sleep Till Peace started as a way to personally process the adventure of moving abroad and learning how to serve others. A digital scrapbook or diary if you will. I never imagined it would turn into a family of kindred spirits looking to take the plunge and travel abroad or give back to their brothers and sisters in this world as a volunteer! I am excited everyday by the amazing global citizens I see on social media. This audience shift from personal diary to global community has become about promoting cultural awareness and giving readers a small glimpse into the beauty of being different.

With at least 5 months left as a volunteer and a possible 4th year on the horizon, I will continue to write about my Peace Corps journey and Peru for a long time to come. However, I would love to expand my writing to the countries I visited before joining the Peace Corps and the other countries in South America I have had the opportunity to explore over the past few years. I hope that as you continue to read these posts you’ll enjoy experiencing the first time I stepped foot outside the US and landed in Rome, or the time I discovered the humbling natural beauty of an endless salt flat in Bolivia, or when I heard the flying rhythms of flamenco for the first time in Spain! Let’s take a trip down memory lane together and continue on the journey of exploration and global acceptance.¡Lo que sera sera!

Thanks for reading,

Brooklynn

Dear Brooklynn, I have REALLY enjoyed your posts. They have helped me through this last year, and I am always thrilled to see your post in my email list. I am looking forward to your upcoming adventure stories. AND to think you may be able to extend to a 4th year!!! I so wish I had stayed a 3rd year in my village in South India. Take care of yourself and those around you. You have an amazing community. Melanie
